My Story
My background is a blend of adventure and technology. For many years, I’ve worked professionally as a skydiving instructor, a role that has fostered my love of teamwork, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure. I also volunteer at my local food bank and enjoy working with motorcycles and vehicles in my spare time.
My interest in information technology - and particularly in cybersecurity - began after experiencing a cyberattack myself several years ago. That personal event opened my eyes to the importance of digital safety and inspired me to pursue a deeper understanding of how to protect myself and others online. In addition to my work in IT, I’ve had diverse job experiences, ranging from stockbroking to retail renovations, which have strengthened my adaptability and problem-solving skills.
I am also autistic, and my journey is shaped by both challenges and the tremendous support I’ve received along the way. I believe that my perspective as an autistic adult brings a unique lens to both technology and human-centered fields. I am especially interested in possibly combining my passions through digital forensics - a field that merges technical expertise with insights into human behavior. I’m also drawn to the idea of working with and supporting autistic adults, using both my technical background and lived experience.
Through this course and my studies, I aim to discover whether cybersecurity is the best fit for me, or if my calling is in helping others more directly - perhaps by integrating psychology with technology. No matter where this journey leads, I’m committed to continuous learning, growth, and supporting others along the way.
Thanks for joining me on this adventure!
